Technology: Variable Valve Timing (VVT); Five-Speed Automatic
MPG (City/Hwy): 17/25
Estimated Fuel Economy Improvement: 4-8%; 4-8%

GM's Bowling Green Assembly plant has added the Cadillac XLR to its production. The luxury performance car uses a 4.6L Northstar V-8 engine with VVT that improves engine performance and increases fuel economy. It also features a five-speed automatic transmission that improves performance and fuel economy.

To make room for the XLR, GM moved parts storage out of the plant and added 10,000 square feet of floor space. Vehicle production began in 2004.
