Technology: Variable Valve Timing (VVT) MPG (City/Hwy): 29/34 (2WD), 26/31 (4WD) Estimated Fuel Economy Improvement: > 4% The Pontiac Vibe went into production in January 2002 at the NUMMI Assembly Plant in California. Its 1.8L four-cylinder engine features VVT, which provides improved low-end torque, increased horsepower, reduced emissions, and more than 4% improvement in fuel economy. Additionally, the Vibe has an optional GT version that incorporates a VVT engine with lift (VVTL) that further improves output and fuel economy.
