Ford Focus PZEV

Technology: Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle
MPG (City/Hwy): 26/32

The Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) Focus was the first domestically produced vehicle to meet the PZEV standard. It achieves PZEV through use of the special 2.3 liter I-4 engine that has advanced fuel-injectors, an advanced engine control system and advanced catalysts that reduce start-up emissions and catch pollutants. The engine was introduced as an option in 2003 in select states. It is now standard equipment in California, Vermont, New York, Maine and Massachusetts, and is optional in border states.
