DaimlerChysler began production of its first hybrid, the diesel-electric Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Quad Cab heavy-duty pickup, at its St. Louis North Assembly Plant in Missouri in 2004. The vehicle includes an Integrated Starter- Generator (ISG) that allows the engine to shut down during idle, smooths out shifting, and runs auxiliary 110V power outlets located in the truck bed.

The vehicle is currently available to fleet customers.
