The Green Machines Tour is forming alliances with UAW leaders, lawmakers, environmental groups and other stakeholders throughout the Midwest. Each Tour event brings attention to the potential for fuel-efficient vehicle technologies to help create good quality jobs in the heartland, and policy options that could help accelerate the production of these technologies. In many cases, the Tour also brings attention to advanced vehicles that are already being built by UAW members and sold in the U.S.

Labor/Environmental Alliance Issues Challenge to Michigan Lawmakers
- September 2006 This year Green Machines Tour joined a group of labor and environmental leaders to form the Michigan Apollo Alliance. At its kick-off event, the new Alliance outlined specific proposals they believe will invigorate Michigan's economy, protect Michigan's environment, and help the nation end its dependence on foreign oil. |

Green Machines Technology Forum - June 2005 Last year, the Green Machines Tour stopped in Michigan to showcase the fuel-efficient vehicle technologies that are being produced by UAW members in Region 1A. At the event the UAW, environmental leaders and state officials joined together to show support for greater automobile fuel-efficiency and policies to promote increased production of advanced vehicle technologies. |

Green Machines Tour Celebrates Earth Day with Congressman Dingell -
April 2005 The Tour stopped at UAW Region 1A to join Congressman John Dingell (D-Michigan), representatives from United Auto Workers, DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors for an "Earth Day Auto Show". The event showcased fuel-efficient vehicles that are union-made in the U.S. |

Ohio Hybrid Car and Clean Fuels Day - March 2005 The Green Machines tour stopped in Ohio last year, to join Ohio State Senator Mark Mallory (D-Cinncinati) for a hybrid car and clean fuels day at the Statehouse in Columbus. The event brought attention to the use of fuel efficient automobiles as a method of conserving natural resources and protecting the environment. The event showcased several U.S.-made hybrid and advanced vehicles from Ford, DaimlerChrysler and GM. |

Official Tour Kick-Off in Kansis City, Missouri - August 2004 As the first hybrid SUV was unveiled at Ford's Kansas City Assembly Plant, a coalition of environmental and labor leaders kicked-off the Green Machines Tour. The launch of the Green Machines Tour included a press conference in which environmental and labor groups showed support for production of the new Escape Hybrid and an educational forum, both of which were hosted by UAW Local 249, in Claycomo, Missouri. |
